About Me
My thirteen years of theoretical and applied research experience focuses on evaluating, designing, and developing secure cyber-physical systems to detect and prevent intrusions using AI that relies on anomaly and behavior characteristics produced by advanced machine and deep learning models. For the last three years, I was an Associate Professor at the University of South Alabama (USA) where I designed Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) architectures capable to operate on Software and Hardware assisted by transferable ML and DL models. Areas of my research include Cybersecurity and AI Ethics, Hardware Security, Intrusion Detection, Data & Model Validation, ML Fairness & Bias, Adversarial Machine Learning, Side-Channels, Blockchain and Digital Forensics in Data Pipelines. The last three years I led, as PI/Co-PI, four research grant awards (NSF, DoD, I/UCRC) and worked as Senior Research and Product Manager on two Institutional grants.
